FLORIDA Fascism: Elections Official’s Opponent Arrested

FL Fascism: Elections Official’s Opponent Arrested

Video: Ellen Brodsky, long time election reform advocate was a
candidate for Broward County Secretary of Elections. An employee
of her opponent and winner in the Supervisor of Elections had
Brodsky arrested for inquiring about a canceled meeting.

By Joan Brunwasser
Election Integrity Editor
OpEdNews.Com

Introduction by Michael Collins: Joan Brunwasser just provided this update on OpEdNews and sent it to USACOUP as well. Ellen Brodsky, a widely respected and well liked election reform advocate, was jailed today after seeking to attend a Broward County Canvassing Board meeting. A witness on the scene makes clear that all Brodsky did was ask about the meeting and inquire about a cancellation.
Brodsky is the second election reform figure arrested while simply inquiring about the operations about their elections division.

During the Missouri Primary, Phil Lindsay an election reform activist in Kansas City, Missouri was arrested for pointing out that a poll worker was incorrect in requesting a photographic identification prior to Lindsay exercising his franchise (they are not required in Missouri). He disagreed and he too was hauled of by the police. Lindsay and Brodsky have been high profile advocates for clean elections and critical of the operations of their elections officials.

Broward County is home of the “butterfly ballot” in 2000, 100,000 missing votes in 2004, and an array of other problems, including 2008 delays, glitches and long lines. Welcome to the new fascism.

6. Ellen has worked tirelessly on election reform
a real proponent of voter verified paper ballots. I didn't think she would win the SOE race, but I give her kudos for trying. I hope she sues over this.

12. Broward County Florida Voting Problems - Counting Backwards
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 05:46 PM by autorank
Machines that count backwards (for Democrats no doubt)

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x28027

"Why a voting system would be designed to count backward was a mystery to Broward County Mayor Ilene Lieberman. She was on the phone late Wednesday with Omaha-based Elections Systems and Software.

Bad numbers showed up only in running tallies through the day, not the final one. Final tallies were reached by cross-checking machine totals, and officials are confident they are accurate."

These officials work for the Broward County elections director who had Ellen Brodsky arrested.

3. I thought Palm Beach
was the home of the Butterfly Ballot, not Broward.

Broward was where Ann Coulter committed voter fraud.

9. Yikes, you're right. Broward is home of the missing 100,000 ballots.
The supervisor of elections, current, was appointed by Jeb Bush after he fired the Democrat in that position in 2003, right before the 2004 election. Sweet deal.

5. Sue the motherfucking fascists until they cry like babies! Make their lives so miserable they
run screaming into traffic during rush hour.

Whatever it takes, we have to punish this kind of lawlessness.

22. Old politics
What this is an example of is the old style of politics-- on its way out, hopefully.

Replacing it is the NewBama Change we all crave. It may be too late, but then again, it may never be too late. What do I know? All I really know is this: something has to change.

Elections have been crooked as long as I can remember, now that I remember. And these last few years has shown that the cancer in our election systems has to be cut out. That's why they call the Election Reform forum the ER. Idn't?

21. What shody journalism
There is no such position called "Broward County Secretary of Elections." There is, however, a position called Supervisor of Eelctions.

Broward County was not the home of the "butterfly ballot" in 2000. That was Palm Beach County.

Please don't take this personally, but F.S. is correct. These are flat-out errors on the part of Scoop, so far as I can tell.
