A trio of HETERO questions concerning Prop 8
'One man, one woman'

1) Does the Prop allow the recognization of marriages of same-sex couples from other states/countries?

2) What is the age of consent for CA marriages i.e to be considered a 'man' or 'woman'? Would the Prop make age of consent laws obsolete and instead man/woman be defined at puberty?

3) Are marriages with LOWER age of consent laws recognized in CA?

Wouldn't PROP 8 have an unintended limitation on hetero marriages done in other states/countries where the age of consent laws are different?

Just thinking too much at lunch......

No

No - age of consent for marriage remains at the same age before the amendment.

3) Are marriages with LOWER age of consent laws recognized in CA?

Yes - all states recognize other states hetro marriages. (Mass, Connecticut and I believe NY recognize all marriages regardless of orientation preformed in other states)

3. Yes - I believe CA recognizes Civil Unions and Domestic Partnerships from other states
but I could be wrong - I cant find anything one way or the other - however the Supreme Court ruling of last June implies that the state should.
