Republicans: Obama Will Ban Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity And Bill O’Reilly If Saxby Chambliss Loses
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 04:19 PM by Are_grits_groceries
Wow, the GOP has really kicked the crazy up another notch in the Martin-Chambliss Senate race.
Quoth the Whoremonger:
Those of us who want to frustrate Barack Obama’s radical agenda are one election away from political impotence.

Ted Stevens has just fallen 800 votes behind in the Alaska recount (hard to make up in a tiny state) and Norm Coleman is clinging to just a 200-vote margin in Minnesota (tiny in a huge state), with the recount not even begun. So if we lose Alaska and Minnesota, Saxby Chambliss ’ seat in Georgia is the 60th vote to stop a filibuster. It all comes down to Georgia.

And what radical things will happen, Dick, if you lose Georgia?
With Georgia, we can do a great deal to tone down the Obama legislation. We can filibuster budget bills and demand a repeal of the Fairness Doctrine to muzzle talk radio as the price for letting them pass.

What is it with these wingnuts and their paranoid fantasies about the Fairness Doctrine, which was repealed 20 years ago? Obama hasn't even been sworn in and already we're seeing the return of black helicopter-type delusions from the crowd that spent the 1990s obsessing about how ClintonGore's thuggish gubmint storm troopers were going to take away their guns. Now Obama's going to take away their Rush.

They probably don't even know there is a Bill of Rights much less a 1st amendment.

11. Republicans are beyond stupid.
The Fairness Doctrine wouldn't put ANYONE out of business. It would allow for an equal amount of time to be devoted to a LIBERAL point of view on talk radio - something that has been non-existent for the better part of 20 years.

but there is this little thing called the First Amendment. I know that Republicans skip over that one and go right to the second one. and then stop there.

22. As much as I wish that were true
Mush Limpdick was around in the 1990's and unfortunately, he'll continue to be around for years to come, unless he pops one too many Oxy's and forgets to wake up some morning. Beck and Savage probably SHOULD be pulled off the air, because they have crossed the line into irresponsible hate speech more than once.

And to get rid of Hannity and O'Reilly, we would have to cripple Murdoch by repealing the 1996 telecommunications act, not restoring the fairness act.

23. Caught a few moments of Mark Lavin
yesterday evening. It was just god-awful. He was angrily obsessing, we will 'punish', them you can believe we will punish them if they try to kick us off the air, try to bring back the fairness doctrine, or take away the first amendment. Must be the thought for the day at the GOP command center. My question is why do the Republicans have the right to dominate with their brand of politics? Why is balance such a threat to them? As an aside, the purchase of guns around here has gone through the roof. Someone has put up a yard sign offering to hang the president-elect, plus some kids got into trouble for anti-Obama chants on the school bus. I think it is deplorable.

30. LeVIN is one of the worst of the hatemongers
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 07:36 PM by musette_sf
in my area he is on the Hate Station at the same time that the son of his IDOL, Ronnie Raygun, is on the Air America station.

i feel it is fitting that one can cleanse their mind of the putrid hate spewed by LeVIN, by switching to the very capable and very intelligent Young Ron Reagan. and i hope it chaps LeVIN's already massively chapped @ss to have to compete with the son of His Hero.

and as an aside, i have noticed that Young Ron seems to be emulating my radio hero, Thom Hartmann, of late. i am really good at remembering and picking out voices, and i had to wait for the promo to be sure it was Ron and not Thom. good work Ron!

on edit: this fired me up to donate to Martin's campaign!!

25. OMG
I DIDN'T KNOW THEY MAKE MUZZLES THAT BIG. IT WOULD BE A BLESSING IF THEY COULD DO THAT. BUT THESE IDIOTS SHOULD KNOW THAT OBAMA CAN'T DO THAT. WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK HE IS? BUSH/CHENEY. KNOW I BELIEVE THE FCC SHOULD BE PASSED. I LIVE IN A AREA THAT WE GET NO LIBERAL LEANING TALK SHOWS. SO I SAY KEEP THE RIGHT TALK SHOWS AND ADD LEFT LEANING TALK SHOWS. START WITH RIGHT LEANING FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF HOURS THAN LEFT LEANING FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. I ALWAYS USE TO LIKE THAT. I THINK THE RIGHT IS AFRAID THAT PEOPLE MIGHT HAVE ANOTHER OPINION.
