1. My own take
I'd hate to lose her in the Senate, but she'd be great.

2. Yes.
She has demonstrated a fair, logical grasp pertaining to foreign policy in the recent past.

5. Hillary isn't an empty suit... like Palin...
You might say that Hillary's pantsuits have been thoroughly vetted:)

20. Bwaaha ha ha ha!!
No doubt!

And you know what? Even if she didn't, she's smart enough to bury her tracks! I'd give credit for that, everything considered;)

6. If Obama thinks she's up to the job and she will accept it then who am I to say otherwise?
He's smarter than I am and she knows more about what she wants to do than I do so I think this is one we can safely leave up to the Principals.

7. I'm no fan of Hillary, but she certainly is qualified for the position
If that's what Barack wants, that's what Barack should get.

8. Although she was near the bottom
of my Primary candidates list, I think SOS is good. She is well-liked, smart, accomplished well-traveled. So if President Barack Obama thinks she is the right person, it's AOK with me. I will not go along with everything Obama says and does necessarily, but in this case I can't think of a negative that I feel would disqualify her.

11. Gov picks replacement.
And that Senator would have to run in 2010 for the last two years of the term.

12. He could, at least, select someone who didn't vote for Bush's war.
But, politics as usual is still in vogue.

18. I wonder if he'd pick Cuomo just to get him out of the state.
Cuomo's a potential primary opponent in Paterson's re-election.

13. I could go either way.
I think she's highly unqualified.

But then again, when was the last time a SoS served out both terms? Rusk?

So chances are good it'd get her out of both the senate and the WH in the long term.

15. I do not think she would be a good choice.
She would be much more effective by staying in the Senate. Her close relationship with Israel would not go unnoticed by the Arab world.

21. and Rahm's relationship to Israel is *okay* for the Arabs?
Straw man, considering Rahm. Especially after Rahm's father's comments the other day. :eyes:

than either Clinton or Kerry. Keep them in the senate.....

23. No because although she would be great, I am against
taking any Senators out of the Senate. We are trying to get a 60-vote majority here and this wouldn't exactly help.

She would be excellent at any position. But she should stay in the Senate. IMHO.
