Siegelman: New Revelations "More Frightening Than Anything That Came Before."
By Zachary Roth - November 14, 2008, 11:34AM

Siegelman continued: "If what (the whistleblower) says is true, it's one issue. But the fact that it was never disclosed to the defense or the judge, and then was covered up by DOJ, is a crime, even if what she said wasn't true."

He added: "At every stage of this investigation, either by lawyers or the House Judiciary Committee, DOJ has refused to turn over documents" or otherwise cooperate.

The authenticity of the key emails provided by the whistleblower has not been questioned, according to Time.

Siegelman also said he was shocked by other revelations from the whistleblower, including that one of the jurors had expressed romantic interest in an FBI agent working with prosecutors. He called it "astounding" that this hadn't been revealed to the judge and the defense.

1. Please help Don Siegelman see justice any way you can.
(I've adopted the man as one of my causes to donate to and support).

Thanks, everyone.

14. And what they did to the citizens of the state of Alabama

who didn't deserve to be bamboozled by a purportedly law-abiding DOJ.

Kudos, but sorry, I didn't get to this thread in time for a recommendation.

4. k*r This is the deal, fascism was rampant. Siegelman was a key victim
Why did they want him out? What was so important in these political prosecutions, including other
Democratic candidates, that motivated these miscarriages? It's a shame that Mukasey allowed an other-
wise distinguished career on the federal bench to be trashed by association with these political
prosecutions (Musgrave, Figer, Siebelman, etc.) to go unrevealed. Maybe he'll have a turn of
conscience. Regardless, the truth has to come out.

6. I remember seeing Siegelman speaking out
about election fraud several years ago. There was a video, airc, of him saying that he believed there had been fraud committed and he was very out-spoken about it at a time when there was a media (and sometimes sadly, blog) blackout of the topic.

I don't know if Karl Rove et al went after him because he refused to be silent about that issue, but it's something to think about imo. Almost everyone else was silent at the time, or at least anyone who had a voice.

7. Yes, it has to.
We can't allow mass pardons. We may never know the full truth. Start the impeachment now. No whining, no "we can't do it at this hour" or "it's too late," start screaming your heads off now.

And remember...

First they ignore you.

Then they laugh at you.

Then they fight you.

And then you win.

15. Sorry to say, but if Obama led the call for impeachment
we'd have it. The "black-out" has shifted from mentioning machine-related election fraud, to what we need to do to establish who did it and how they got away with it.

12. Siegelman was a test case IMHO
Bush Gang just wanted to see how far they could push the envelope and get away with it. Luckily for all of us, there were honest US Attorneys that pushed back, otherwise, a lot of us might be in a similar situation as Siegelman.

9. ARREST "Rove's Girls" Leura Canary and Alice Martin.
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 05:31 AM by tom_paine
FUCKING ARREST THEM! SEIZE THEIR COMPUTERS! THEY ARE EVIDENCE IN A CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY CASE.

If we don't show the Bushies that there are at least SOME consequences, to their vile henchpersons if not to themselves, how are we going to stop the Bushification/Nazification of our nation?

Without arrests of criminals like Canary and Martin, the Bushies will be emboldened in their criminal enterprises.

13. Arrest no one...
until January 20. That way Bush can not pardon anyone. His pardons will only serve silence.

If I remember correctly, a presidential pardon can come before any charges.
