1. I know it's not that big of a deal (in the big picture of things), but |
|
that bugs the hell out of me, too. It's purposeful disrespect.

2. It's straight out of Rethug talking points |

No professional journalist should say that with impunity.

8. "Serious journalists" repeat the GOP talking points as fact all the time. |
|
I think some of it is just laziness and the power of the R's message machine. However, using Democrat as an adjective is a pretty obvious slip.

3. We should Just Start Using "The Republic Senate" |
|
Everyone, all the time. Get used to it "The republic minority" "the republic congressman".
If anyone asks, just say, "I thought Bush Changed the english language to accommodate less syllables, why else do so many use democrat incorrectly - they can't all be that illiterate, can they?"

18. I have tried that, no effect. It has become "accepted english" |
|
The only way left to point out that it is incorrect is to give them something they will point out, then let them try to explain the selective misuse of language.
I have even heard Democrats use "Democrat Congress" on tv.
Or we can just continue listening to it as it becomes ingrained in our culture. It is already the most common usage on television.

It's aggravating enough when a Republik does it, but there is no excuse when a journalist pretends he/she doesn't know the difference between a noun and an adjective. :argh:

You can tell he has no passion for reporting pro democratic wins.
I say send him to Fox with Rove so they can dance the night away.

|
news organization has a style book as their grammar bible, and this could be a standard usage, since it makes sense grammatically.
(BBC uses it all the time)

The fact that he's still pretending to wear that shirt is a blot on MSNBC's relatively straight shooting.

Although that pic still pisses me off. Colin Mochrie is the guy Rove's pointing at.
And Colin is supposed to be CANADIAN.
I can't imagine ANYONE more un-Canadian than Rove.

24. I tried to E-Mail NBC News About David Gregory..... |
|
..there is no link. They just keep directing you back to their "Opinions". i.e... they don't want to hear about it.
Does anyone have a good link for NBC News?
They know Gregory is a Neocon.. that's why they keep him and Joe Dead Intern.

The misuse is ideologically based - do not be fooled. The bottom line is that you cannot 'officially' rename a political party because you don't like their name. http://nstockdale.blogspot.com/2005/01/democrat-vs-democratic.htmlFreeper take on the subject from http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1698556/posts
