4. Sanders an Independent who caucuses with Dems...
(and a self-described socialist to boot, LOL) I really like Bernie, but he'd have to become a DEM--something I don't see happening. Good guy, though

9. Democrats are the majority party, not independents
Though Bernie Sanders is more of a true Democrat than any DLC'er, in reality. Which is why I would vote Russ Feingold or Barbra Boxer for Majority Leader, rather than Bernie.

13. you didn't answer my question really
why couldn't Bernie be Obama's "bi/non-partisan" poster boy in the Senate.

.. to kinda balance out leaving Gates as Sec. of Defense.

10. I imagine they can vote on whomever they please, but...
the position represents the leader of the majority party in the Senate and the majority party being Democrat, it is pretty unfathomable to imagine anyone suggesting a non-party member lead the party.

15. I know it's a bit off the chart, but couldn't help entertaining the idea.
Bernie's a better Dem than most Dems .. ironic.

8. this discussion- any discussion about replacing Reid- is just loony
Harry Reid will NOT be challenged by anyone. That's a guarantee. And there is NO way to pressure Senators or make someone run. The American electorate doesn't give a fig who the Senate Majority Leader is.

12. If the corporate media wasn't silent about the spineless wonders who were obstructing Congress
The American electorate would be very much against Reid and Pelosi.

14. Bernie Sanders is a socialist
But all hell on me for ever pointing it ou, or the fact that anybody who thinks he represents the mainstream of the Democratic Party is more than just a little left of center.
