. . .
Just started to read "America's Last Days" by Douglas MacKinnon
Captivated by page 10
worried by page 30
I see frightening parallels to the US political situation/history already . .
and while I was visiting one of the business owners in our wee town of 2,000 today
they expressed opinions that they do not expect Barack Obama to survive for more than 6 months . . .
I have my own concerns in that respect also,
I was in Grade 7/8 when the Cuban Missile Crisis and JFK's unsolved assassination occurred
But the World is WATCHING
I hope this will be enough to protect the new President.
The book is fiction,
I hope.

1. Well, Russell T Davies' parallels to society are taken as religion too |
|
Take a step back and breathe. The book is fiction.
I should write a book too; make millions pandering to peoples' fears and make them impotent too.
Eh, "impotent" as doing nothing - not as in "hang time and feelin' blue".

2. I expect Mr. Obama to complete BOTH terms. |
|
I do not expect him to be able to solve the problems we face in the years ahead though. Nobody can. My hope is he mitigates the damage done from the decades of mismanaged government caused by BOTH political parties.

3. President Obama will be the greatest President in my lifetime |
|
and I, too, remember what happened in '62 and '63. Obama will live out his terms in office and be a lasting influence on the nation for years to come.
