Republicans for decades have been calling us Democrats, "Communists".....
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 12:21 AM by Sarah Ibarruri
During the Clinton administrations, they had a FIELD DAY calling us all Communists. It was like a feeding frenzy. And most Dems just threw their arms up helplessly and retreated when Repukes accused Democrats of being Communists. Remember how they accused Hillary Clinton of everything, and they just about had a TRIAL of President Clinton for having committed adultery (which is something Repukes do as easily as they lie). These scumbags are SO USED to calling Democrats "Communists," insulting us, and even accusing us wrongly, and have us do nothing in retaliation, that they thought it would continue forever. For their sadistic minds it was a dream come true for Repukes to remain in power and us to have to endure their insults.

Now Repukes are still continuing this constant attack fest.

I think it's our fault. See, Repukes are sure we're the same wimps we were. Hopefully lots of things will change in us. Repukes are not really at fault. Repukes are consistently the same amoral, psychopathic shitheads as always. We, however, have to change and start showing a very united front and a very powerful front that no longer sits there, but takes very serious action.

2. It's fine if you don't agree
People have been commenting on here that Repukes keep insulting as if Bush had another 4 years ahead of him. And that's what I was referring to.

3. I fully intend to play the patriotism card for the next four years
If you do not support President Obama, you hate American and are playing into the hands of Al Qaeda. Patriotism means supporting the president, because the country is the leader and the leader is the country.

If you don't like the way President Obama is running this country then you should just go back to your cave in Afghanistan and shut up.

Is that what I really believe? Of course not! But I intend to smear it in their faces for the next four (hopefully eight) years. I want them to know how WE felt, having to constantly prove our patriotism.

5. Anytime someone calls me a communist
i correct them and let them know I'm more of a democratic socialist - Like the rest of the First World.

they usually shy away from the political ideology angle at that point.

By the same token, anytime anyone accuses a dem of being a socialist/communist/marxist etc, i let them know that as a democratic socialist i resent them assuming a centrist is as far to the left as I am.

Something about brazenly owning a scary label makes their heads explode.

13. it is....
I love the "unsure" look i get, because usually by the time people (read: Men) get comfortable enough to discuss politics with me, they've built up intellectual respect for me, and they're not quite sure what to do when i shatter their worldview and then debate circles around them on ideological differences.

it's fun.

7. I Miss The West Wing
"We all need some therapy because somebody came along and said liberal means soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on Communism, soft on defense. And we're going to tax you back to the stone age because people shouldn't have to work if they don't want to. And instead of saying 'Well, excuse me, you right-wing reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-choice, pro-gun Leave it to Beaver trip back to the '50s'. We cowered in the corner and say, 'Please don't hurt me' "

12. OMG YES! That's exactly what we did!
We used to do this: And instead of saying 'Well, excuse me, you right-wing reactionary, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-education, anti-choice, pro-gun Leave it to Beaver trip back to the '50s'. We cowered in the corner and say, 'Please don't hurt me' "

But that was then, and this is now:

"After watching Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, Kerry, and, to a large extent, Clinton act like they were supposed to turn the other cheek again and again, it was goddamn cathartic to see a Democratic candidate reach up and grab the hand that was slapping him and say, "No, not this time around, motherfucker." No wonder the right didn't know how to react. It was like seeing a prison bitch grab his rapist and beat his head on the side of the bunk. Rove won't die easily, though. When they weren't being attacked, Republicans mocked John Kerry's military service, medals, and wounds. Imagine what they'll do when they're cornered.

Gird yer loins, motherfuckers, and break out the axes. We've joined the battle."

21. My response.
Calling liberals "commies" and "socialists" is their way of scaring people away from us. They don't really have any honest way of ATTRACTING voters their way, so a big part of their strategy has to be making us look scary.

I call them Cons because they are so dishonest in their arguments.

Ask them whether the EPA ot the any other regulatory agency is a form of socialism. Ask them whether regulating commerce is a form of socialism. You will usually get someone who answers yes.

OWNED!

From the US Constitution. (emphasis added)

Section 8 - Powers of Congress

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;...

Invite them to leave the country and find a nice fascist country to live in.
