1. i think the idea of rush limbaugh leading the republican party is a dream come true.
everybody wins. his oversized, overfed ego gets to bluster away in his illusion of self-importance. while at the same time, the GOP looks even more and more out of touch. more foolish diatribes from a party on the verge of losing not only relevance but every election it's in.

go get 'em, el rushbo!!!!

2. If you thought Palin wasn't accessible to the media
Rush rarely gives up the mic to anyone else. I did find a interview with him around the time that he signed his huge new contract but other than literally phoning in to Fox News from time to time he is scared of anyone else having a say.

3. FWIW, I Agree With That Pinhead On This
Actually, I think that OxyRush has been the most important Rethug for the past two decades. Like water carving the Grand Canyon, OxyRush turns his millions of listeners a little more hateful each day until they become... well, what they've become. Without Limbaugh, the last 8 years would not be possible.

4. I agree totally
There is no question in my mind that Pills Limbaugh has been a MAJOR force in the GOP. His radio show is the single greatest source of unreality, lies and hate for weak minded, ignorant Americans. I am most shocked by the lack of serious attention by Democrats in regard to directly and forcefully addressing Limbuagh's lies with initiatives such as local advertiser boycotts etc.

5. Me too
Limbaugh is the drive shaft of the vast right wing conspiracy. He's polarized America and led our nation into serious problems. This year, the mainstream media finally started letting on that a large portion of the GOP does whatever Limbaugh says. The MSM still doesn't document all the lies and hatred Limbaugh produces and their effect on our political system. It really bothers me that Limbaugh can get away with all this unchallenged.

6. What they don't yet realize
is that the country has been gradually moving to the left culturally. When you get right down to it, what really motivates the Limbaugh wing of the the party is -- RACE. To the young voters now coming into the electorate, race means nothing! Yes, Limbaugh has helped establish the Republican Party to the ugly hateful thing that it is now, but the American public has still passed it by anyways. Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin and people like Phelps are going to be an albotross around their neck.
