Diane Sawyer's new interview raises the bar for serious journalists, establishes new standard

Ashley Dupre, Eliot Spitzer's paid-for paramour, has spilled her guts to ABC News' Diane Sawyer.

But she didn't exactly tell all.

Sawyer interviewed the New Jersey runaway who became a high-priced hooker, it was confirmed Friday - but it's unlikely there will be any details about her dalliance with the former governor.

"People who think this is all about Eliot Spitzer are going to be dissapointed," an insider said. "Diane has done extensive reporting on prostitution. This is another chapter in that reporting."

1. Prostitution has been around FOREVER..

Women have sold their "attentions" since money & favors were "invented"..and probably before..

There are great differences though.

Streetwalkers who get into cars with strangers and go to fleabag motels so their pimps won't kill them, are a far cry from the "elite" call girl organizations.

I guess as long as there are guys willing to pay for it, there will always be a woman (or man) willing to offer their service..

Whenever these exposés come around, it always reminds me that it's "sweeps time" for the networks, and they need a lot of people watching, so they can boost their ad-revenue prices for the upcoming season.. Nothing draws viewers more than sex..
