Anti-Prop 8 Demonstration in Albuquerque, New Mexico

There were lots of wonderful folks out to protest Prop8, plus it was a beautiful day. I just feel like I left one giant group hug. I hope there were gatherings all over the country such as the one we had in Albuquerque.

5. Maybe 800 or more.
I'm bad at estimating numbers of people, but it was a pretty big crowd considering there wasn't advance notice. I just happened to read about it online at the last minute. My husband and I had just been bitching about how hateful Prop 8 was, so we decided at the last second we needed to join in. I'm really glad we did. I left feeling so positive and full of love. I don't understand how people can be so mean spirited as to come up with a ban on other people's rights. Love is the greatest thing in the world no matter who is loved.

Awwww, that it exactly how I feel! It was really positive.

Edited to add: I went to the one in Houston.

6. Great pix Cyber-G
I knew nothing about this either until I saw it on the news ... Taking away the rights of citizens by referendum is an extremely dangerous, slippery slope... But on the other hand, what else do conservatives have left but divisiveness, fear and hate?

7. We only heard about it at the last minute.
I was surprised with all the people that were there considering how little early warning people got. There were lots of kids there too. After all the excitement during the elections, it was great to still feel the excitement of working for change that the crowd carried with them. There were so many good people in the crowd. ahhh, remembering the feeling of a giant group hug. It is amazing that we can on one hand elect a president without consideration of his ethnicity, yet a state like California can pass such a hateful law based on who a person loves.
