Thank you!
I just went out to do a little grocery shopping...The sky is full of smoke! The sun actually looked red for a while...
And when I got back to my car, there were little flecks of ash on it...
There's a fire up in Palos Verdes, some 7 miles or so from here...
Strange days...

I'm in San Luis Obispo County next door to Santa Barbara County. We haven't had any fires but the heat coming from them from down south is drying everything up here and we are all wilting.

9. Most of the spring and summer. We had a little shower about two weeks ago. |
|
It was enough for me to discover a leak and have it fixed, but nothing else. Usually, we are foggy at lot being near the ocean but the sky is creepily unclouded and sunny almost every day. Sun is nice but too much isn't that good either. Every plant thirsts for water. I never had to water the yard at this time of the year, but I have to twice a week now.

this again .I was there 5 years ago by Escandito and they fires were so bad they freeways were closed. The swimming pool at the motel was black and we couldnt go outside cause you couldnt breathe. It was heartbreaking and now they are going thru it again.I cant imagine how they can keep going thru this.I live 90 miles north of Phoenix and ashes were in this town from California.it looked like the end of the world before and this time looks worse. Please stay safe and dont take any chances, the fires go so fast

Smoke is everywhere here, except right near me. My heart goes out to the people in the canyons. Beautiful country, but can be dangerous.

18. How very thougtful of you. |
|
I spoke to my husband, who is working up in the Long Beach area today, and he said the sky was pitch black in front of him on his drive.
I've been too busy to look at the news much today but, so far in OC, we've just got really hot Santa Ana conditions, like a furnace. Seriously. These fires usually always start up around us, eventually. Last year we had the Silverado Canyon fire burning on one side, flames visible from our home, with the Pendleton fire on the other side. The school district closed down. We had black skies and raining ash for weeks.

|
to see my sister (who is battling breast cancer) until I fly home on Tuesday. Now I don't know if I'll be able to do that. And while that really sucks (one of my other sisters was going to join me as a surprise), it sucks even harder to be the people who have been devastated by this fire. to you all.
