People in the fire areas.. All that smoke is highly TOXIC..be careful |
|
Everything IN those burned houses and the very houses themselves, has been chemically treated in one form or another..All that smoke will linger wherever it lands...on your houses, your lawns, in your car's air transfer system..
If you or your kids have respiratory issues, please be careful..
Look around inside your own homes,, look at all the plastics & fabrics..it becomes even more toxic when it burns..
Wash your pets feet for a while if they go outside..

1. I was coughing for 3 weeks after the Cedar Fire of 2003. |

That was a cataclysmic megafire though.

6. Asbestos doesn't burn. |
|
And the amount of chemicals and plastic in those fires is an astrisk relative to the total volume of smoke that's being produced.
That doesn't change my original point, which is smoke is always toxic. Even if the only thing burning upwind is brush and trees, that doesn't make the smoke noticibly safer than smoke from burning houses. People should avoid breathing it as much as possible.
