The Large Insane Wingnut At The Home Depot.
Big, big guy. Loud voice. Down the sprinkler aisle, almost yelling at the poor Home Depot employee, who glances at me as I walk past with 'help me' eyes.

"No, it's absolutely true! I guarantee it! By this time next year, we won't be able to buy bullets! They can't outlaw guns, so they're gonna outlaw bullets!"

He kept repeating himself as I turn the corner -- I could hear him all the way to the checkstand.

I wonder if he's a betting man personally.

6. Lol what nutjob....
Why is he yelling at the employee? Did the employee say something to him? Home Depot doesn't even sell guns or bullets.

7. I would have stopped and listened, and this could have had 2 effects
The guy could have stopped yelling, because he might have been embarrassed. Or, the employee could have said to you, "Do you have a question?" and you could have said, "Yeah, can you show me where the window screen material is?" or something like that, which would have allowed him to get away from the guy.

24. Ammunition is the LAST thing you want to find at Home Depot...
see, if we would have sold ammo, the temptation to use it on some of the customers would have been far too great.

Then again...I can just imagine our district Loss Prevention Manager..."No, you can NOT take a store-use markdown on .45 ammunition."

I'd like to use the bullets on the employees. Sexist bastards run like hell whenever they see a woman coming at them to ask a question.

12. You can make bullets at home
Making bullets with smokeless powder could be hard, but its not like the equipment to make bullets at home is impossible to do.

20. That requires a certain level of competence and intelligence...
The reason you don't hear about more of the paranoid gun nuts (as opposed to the more level-headed members of the gun community we have on DU) doing this is because either a) they aren't smart enough to know how to do this or even how to look it up on Teh Intergoogleses or b) they ARE smart enough to do that, but are incompetent and end up killing or maiming themselves or others in the process.

I'm just sayin'... ;)

15. Do as I do.
I ask them if they would put their money where there mouth is, and offer to put up $10,000 with a neutral third party, payable after the agreed length of time has expired.

They never take the bet.

You know, BEFORE the Islamocommie Fagger Jewslum outlaws them and mandates all pure-blood Muricans report to local United Way centers for required abortions and priuses!

19. Did this guy have black hair & mustache; was he wearing a red wife-beater t-shirt?
And the size of his belly would rival a 9-month mother's-to-be who's having twins.

That's one of my neighbors, who lives up the street. He also has an old, large Dodge van with a red paint job (he's got this thing about the color red), with 4 truck horns mounted on top, & it's always parked in the street; to my knowledge, the goofball never uses it.

This guy's one of the few people in the neighborhood to put political signs in his yard -- always for Rethugs -- & to fly his huge American flag outside his house for the past 8 years (haven't seen it lately).

He uses his garage as a workroom -- the door stays permanently opened to display a huge disorganized mess of junk. I give him points for meticulously maintaining his 3 vehicles, but his driveway is frequently used to put those vehicles on blocks for whatever maintenance task.

Jerk of the neighborhood, who has had police parked on his driveway on several occasions monitoring neighbors who dare to exceed 20 mph.

22. I saw a goofy looking guy in Tanner's Sporting Goods the other day shouting
"Just watch, next year you won't be able to buy shingles!!!"

He was pushing an empty shopping wagon and looked for all the world like 2 hung up dogs in the alley.

28. Funny, I was in Gander Mountain on Friday
and they had all you could afford to carry off with. Shelves full of 'em. I got my usual quantity of target load for poking holes in paper and there was more than plenty of everything else.

Sprinkler aisle and he was bitching about bullets? Something tells me he ought not be loose with a firearm in any case.
