Here's a fascinating explanation of Proposition 8 against gays

READ IT CAREFULLY - it has more stuff than I think I cared to know.

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/15/us/politics/15marriage.html?pagewanted=2

If that's the second page, go back to the 1st, sorry.

1. Fascinating. K&R
To be honest, I admire the ruthless efficiency with which their outfit operated and how masterfully they manufactured and disseminated propaganda. I was particularly struck by the following passage:

"For his part, Mr. Schubert said he is neither anti-gay — his sister is a lesbian — nor happy that some same-sex couples’ marriages are now in question. But, he said, he has no regrets about his campaign."

The level of doublethink going on in that man's skull is astounding and would make Orwell blush.

I think the best way to describe my reaction to this phenomenon is to liken it to passers-by observing a train wreck - you know it's horrifying, but you just can't look away;.

2. How puke-a-licious
I loved this:
“People of faith have a democratic right to express their views in the public square without fear of reprisal.”

Expressing your views and legally forcing them on other people are two different things. You know, that whole "church and state" thing?

Time to revoke their tax-exempt status NOW.

3. This is disgusting
1) Why the fuck are they exempt from taxes?

2) Pro-marriage, not anti-gay? Give me a break. How the hell can these idiots live with themselves?

3) The creation of families is part of the creators plan, eh? Well then, why the fuck are you trying to prevent that creation? Let's ignore the fact that an infallible being such as a "creator" certainly doesn't need *your* help in following through with its plan.
