Let's break up the Yes on 8 coalition with the "Utah Marriage Amendment"
I say let's break up the little Molotov-Von Ribbentrop coalition
that gave us Proposition 8 in California by attempting to
amend the constitution of the State of Utah to define
"marriage = 1 man and 1 woman".

I know that many, many fundies only smiled and played nice
with the Mormons because the both hate the gay, but they really
don't like 'em. And the Mormons likewise only give lip service
to the ban on polygamy.

Time to hold our noses and astroturf the hell out of this
to return the favor

2. I'm for that, and Arizona and Idaho as well
Any state that has a fundie-LDS anti-gay cabal can use this.

Look at the knife fight now going on in the Republican party between the Wildmon/Falwell types, the
neocons/PNAC clique, and the fiscal conservative factions.

It can done, it needs money and someone with a
real Machiavellian touch to get it rolling. Remember, there is a deep distrust of the LDS
amongst some of the Palin branch of the GOP.

The differences on social issues between Catholics and Mormons might be a starting point,

4. There's a major flaw in that plan.
Utah's constitution already bans polygamy. It was a condition for statehood.

5. You forgot one vital part: " ... for LIFE"
"Marriage is hereby defined as the joining of one man and one woman in matrimony until both persons have died. Divorce and remarriage will neither be recognized nor respected."

Amen. And FM.

7. Please explain the "moral basis" of cannibalism to me.
I mean, they say I should drink the human blood of Christ, and eat his flesh. They want my soul. Sounds like voodoo to me.

What exactly is the higher moral platform of cannibalism anyway? From this lofty perch they condemn everything else?
