2. They lost.
And a black guy won. Their world is upside down.

Luckily, the rednecks and the richies have formed a circular firing squad, but the rednecks have all the guns. The rednecks loves them some Palin, and want to shoot anyone who points out how incredibly fucking DUMB she is. The endgame seems to be that the party will split, or at least it will lose a lot of members on one or the other end of the IQ scale. Either way, they're screwed. FINALLY.

3. The Republicans are laying low until they know if we hold 60 seats in the Senate
Their plan of action will be to Filibuster every piece of legislation if they hold 40 seats

Or they will be obnoxious as as possible if they hold 39.

Either way the Republicans are just going to be a bunch of childish, whiny little mustards for the next 12 to 16 years.

5. I'm 51 and I've never known one to make much sense
anyone who consistently votes against their own self-interest and prefers to believe in faerie-tales "ain't raht" and probably will never be. They've gotten bolder since * and crew started encouraging and courting them and drawing the real wackadoos out in the open, but I think there are about as many and about as crazy as there ever were.

7. I think the first choice nails it
Republicans were NEVER an ideologically coherent group (at least not since Reagan).

There are the fiscal conservatives, the "Goldwater" or "Rockefeller" conservatives.

Then there are the Neocons, the pro-Israel "American Exceptionalism" warhawks.

Then there are the "Value Voter" :puke: fundies. Of course, there is some overlap there, but those are the basic groups.

And Bush managed to keep all of them united, although barely.

Then along comes McSame. The fundies HATED him. The Goldwater Repubs accepted him with reservations and the Neocons saw him as a close second choice to Romney. Enter Sarah Palin, the fundies' choice.

All of sudden, all these groups started looking at each other and saying "WTF"?

And the fight has only just begun.
