Get Real: the reason Lieberman doesn't deserve chair is not because he endorsed a candidate.
the problem here is that he used divisive rhetoric, scare tactics, fearmongering, and soforth, that only serves to divide the nation. A person that speaks publicly like this, from either side of the fence, should not be in a position of leadership, making important decisions on homeland security and such. We need people who are trying to bring this country together, and do what is best for the whole, not trying to divide the country and scare the country into doing one thing or another.

so I disagree with those who think Lieberman should be stripped of his chairmanship just on the grounds of his choice for president and ensuing endorsement. It's **HOW** he endorsed, not **WHO** he endorsed.

3. Lieberman doesn't deserve chair because he is supposed to have oversight over the
president, he did NOTHING as far as oversight for the bush administration. Now he and the repugs want him there so he can have oversight on the Obama administration, so they can tie his hands with some insignificant "wrong" the same way they did to Clinton.

5. He only stands up to Democrats, not to Republicans.
I don't know what is wrong with him.

Personally I don't see it. He needs to go.

6. lieberman blew his job on Oversight in
addition to his FEAR TACTICS.

Senator Dorgan's view..

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/11/16/dorgan-lieberman/

And Jason Leopold's from Consortium News..

<snip>

"Most of the attention on whether Joe Lieberman should be ousted from his Senate committee chairmanship has focused on his disloyalty to Democrats and his control of homeland security issues, but there’s also the question of how well he has handled his panel’s broad government oversight responsibilities.

In contrast to his House counterpart, Rep. Henry Waxman, who has chaired dozens of high-profile hearings on the Bush administration’s wrongdoing the past two years, Sen. Lieberman has not held a single hearing on Executive Branch malfeasance nor has he issued any subpoenas demanding information from the administration.

That means Lieberman’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has passed over for hearings issues such as warrantless domestic surveillance, Iraq contracting fraud, “enhanced interrogation” of detainees, and the bungled response to Hurricane Katrina."

7. Lieberman has been useless the last two years as chair.
And that is the reason he should go. You are certainly correct that endorsement alone should not get his bounced, but how it did it and the arguments he made. Of course, I am not too happy that he also endorsed Coleman and Collings for the Senate. Don't think any of the republicans who endorsed Obama also endorsed democratic senate candidates.

8. No it's because he's a douchebag who talks like Droopy Dog
I can't believe even the dumbest of right wing tools would be swayed by anything this asswipe uttered.

He thought he was gonna be on the ticket as VP but his new butt buddies in the repub party didn't want him anymore than we do.

He's a thoroughly unlikeable person who lacks foresight, insight and fortitude.

I'll bet high school was an unending series of daily wedgies for Loseerman.

9. That is not the only reason
He had the position and he failed at the position. He did not open one investigation into * administration, the emails, the outing of Plame. He did absolutely nothing in the position.

Are we expected to believe that he will do absolutely nothing with an Obama administration? Lieberman will be the Newt Gingrinch and open up unnecessary and unwarranted investigations to prevent Obama from fixing the ills of this country.

Along with the things you noted his failure to do his job should not be rewarded.
