The Repukes will not recover until a "Sister Souljah" moment, when they condemn Rush/Hannity.
They have relied on talk radio, Faux News and the same tired smears, while ignoring jobs, health care and financial security.

They have hitched their wagon to Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and Obama's birth certificate, while the rest of the nation has moved on.

I don't see any of the Repukes with the courage to take on Rush/Sean/Ann, but that is what they MUST do to again be a viable party. But they are cowards, and so the prospects are bright for a progressive agenda in the future.

The Repukes have marginalized themselves. None of them have the cojones to take on the very weird Reich wing, as exemplified by Rush. Look at this map. The rest was all blue. The Republicans may actually cease to exist, unless they clean house.

2. Trent Lott sort of did during the immigration debate last year
He said something like "talk radio is controlling the debate" or something like that, in frustration, as he supported John McCain's immigration bill.

The reaction from the talk shows and the blogs was furious and Lott was cut loose.

3. I'd love to see them wander in the wilderness for at least
40 years, as they lament their loss of power!

Couldn't happen to a more deserving party, IMHO!

5. only problem is that talk radio is the grass roots of their party
so they can't attack them with even furthering their losses
