"Thinning the Herd"
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 06:24 PM by Pamela Troy
Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck on the recent Bill Ayers interview on GMA.
O’Reilly: But when I go out on the street and I say, "William Ayers, does that bother you?" Just as many Americans say, "No, I don't care." What is that mentality when they don't care about a guy like this? What does that tell you?

Beck: Cakes and circuses and too many dumb people. I mean, we should thin out the herd, you know what I mean?

Why no, what do you mean? As one of those “dumb people” who’s not especially bothered by Barack Obama’s tangential relationship with Bill Ayers, I’d really like to know.
Beck: ….There is a disconnect in America. We are at the place where the Constitution hangs in the balance, and I think we're at a crossroads here. We're still about here , where the roads are just starting to split, but pretty soon, this side and this side are not gonna understand each other at all, because we're living in different universes.

And then what, Glenn? Is that when you guys start “thinning the herd?”

11. I think you had a hiccup with important post... But is three necessary?

Their viewers are thinning out as we speak

pretty soon their talk shows will go the way of the dodo birds.

Their Nazi talk is getting pretty obvious isn't it these days.

Bush fucking destroys The Constitution, mass-murders tens of thousands, tortures, detains innocent people, and O'Really is worried about a 1960's anti-war protestor???? And Beck should be hung by his balls. These two are a waste of space. Human consciousness would raise a few hundred points if they were wiped from the face of the earth.

The people in The Weather Underground meant well. They just went about it the wrong way. O'Reilly and Beck are nothing more than fascist propagandists, and in earlier times, they would have been executed for treason.

23. Yes, we ARE living in different universes.
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 06:34 PM by SeattleGirl
The one people like you, Bill, and you, Glenn, inhabit is based on hate and fear and hopelessness. The likes of you thrive on that shit, on keeping people down, on keeping people fearful of each other, on keeping people dumbed down.

The alternate universe, the one I live in, while not perfect, is one in which truth, openness, knowledge, education, compassion, caring, and humanity are valued. Where we look out for each other. Where we don't leap to the defense of those who oppress us, but rather, stand with the oppressed and work to end that oppression.

Yes, we ARE living in different universes. Yours has had too much power for too long.

It's our turn now.

But I think you will see a big difference. We won't commit hate crimes against you, even though we might hate you and what you stand for. We may want to quiet you down, not because we don't believe in free speech, but because we don't believe in the speech of hate and oppression.

I would invite you to join us, but I'm sure the invitation would fall on deaf ears.

Or maybe, just maybe, some of the people who inhabit your universe will begin to see the sham that it is, and realize there IS another way to live.

We'll see.

24. If Beck is suggesting some kind of purge of stupid people...
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 06:49 PM by Mr_Jefferson_24
...in the U.S. with his "thin the herd" remark, I wonder what criteria would be used in determining whether someone is sufficiently stupid that they should be purged -- because if they used a general intelligence IQ type examination to do it, the entire Fox News watcher base would be wiped out right along with Glen's Cro-Magnon man fan base.

26. He Wants to Purge All the People Who are Smart Enough to See Through His Crap
If people on our side proposed such action towards THEM, we would very likely find ourselves in the slammer.
