What's going on with the news these days? Galveston drowns and it's off the air in 2 days. Same with these fires. Anybody got any live links to coverage? Or have they stopped covering it completely?

4. Not to belittle the real problems of people who have lost their homes and lives in these fires...
but man the air is just killing me. I've had a sore throat and headache all weekend. Sorry, I just had to complain although I know it's incredibly petty to do so in the face of people's genuine losses.

5. National news treats fires differently than California news does.
Fires are big news out here. No one fucks around when it comes to the fires or the Santa Ana winds. We may make jokes about Earthquakes (gallows humor, etc). But no one jokes when it comes to the fires.

Here are some pictures from the LA Times

The smoke from the Tea Fire outside Montecito covering the Pacific Ocean, November 14, 2008.

The automatic sprinklers spray an empty classroom in Brea, November 15, 2008.

Stay safe my California friends. Those pics are just devastating.

7. I didn't take them, of course.
I only have pity because we have no state leadership. We need to get rid of the GOP's Great Aryan Hope.
