Poll question: What's the most vital industry for the US? |
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 09:46 AM by Commie Pinko Dirtbag
I see some people essentially say that the US will be OK if the auto industry is OK, and not OK if the auto industry is not OK. Is that really true? Or is some other area of business equally or more critical?

5. Oh, I agree but it is an economic engine that drives many communities |
although it produces nothing of what I call real value. My community would fall apart without it.

4. we managed w/o the auto industry for centuries |
it would certainly mean a drastic change in lifestyle (some say for the best), but we can definitely survive without the auto industry. We can't survive without food production, and unless everyone becomes a farmer, we need a farming/food industry, even if it's localized.
That said, I think all industries are important to sustaining the population overall.

7. The most vital would be the most basic, so I'd say food |
Without agriculture, those other industries aren't possible.

8. I read that as the most lively industry rather than necessary industry, |
so my answer was going to be guns.

9. There is no one most vital industry |
Although no food would certainly be a very big problem........
