Dear Pres.Elect Obama, Please do not confuse your message about USING the People for dubious ends!
Hillary Clinton should not be Secretary of State because it will confuse the essence of why many of us came to support your candidacy: We felt USED, whether out of stupidity, honest miscalculation, or political expediency, by those who supported the Iraq War Resolution. Your voice was the strongest one that opposed politics-as-USE-ual. You spoke up for Us. Please don't Change that!

If you need proof that HC is a user, please consider reason #5 here http://harpers.org/archive/2008/11/hbc-90003860 - in which she is validated by one of the most proven and greatest users of all times.

1. I'm officially upset over him considering her for this position. I didn't vote for her
in part because I felt she had a totally tin ear on foreign policy--she didn't seem to have a strong grasp of it, or even a deep interest in it--her votes on foreign policy matters were solely in consideration of her run for President. And now he rewards her mediocrity in this area with the TOP foreign policy slot? I am so disappointed in him. He's not choosing the best-qualified.

2. Oh Stop!
Let him do what he does so well and stand back. He knows what he's doing!

4. I don't have blind faith in anybody. I rejected the woman partly on the
basis of her lack of foreign policy acumen (yes, I--as a voter--am allowed to assess that for myself and render a judgment), so it annoys me to see her possibly bestowed a foreign policy role that I feel she doesn't merit. I am allowed to have my opinions and to disagree with Obama.

3. I am reluctant to pitch a gripe, but it IS necessary to draw a line somehow!
This point cannot be negotiated away: The LIVES of the American People and THEIR Soldiers are not bargaining chips in political strategies! Even if that is not in fact what HC and others were up to, even just the POSSIBILITY that it was is absolutely

UN - ACCEPTABLE.

This is what brought me to Barack Obama and anything that affects this understanding will materially affect my support on other issues that I know are problematic to me and mine.

7. I felt that her vote on the IWR was completely made with her own ambitions
in mind--Kerry did the same, so did Biden, but I feel those two have a far better grasp overall of foreign policy (aside from the war) than Hillary ever did.

8. We MUST make this statement against such mistakes. Someone has to be the object of the statement. Th
at task has happened to fall to Hillary. The others will see/hear and take heed.

I'm hoping that President Obama does NOT mute our voice on this ESSENCE - tial point. We the People are NOT Political Fodder.

9. As SoS, she would be following Obama's lead, not taking the lead
on her own.

IMO, SoS is one cabinet post where I think she might be a success, should that happen. I don't think she has the legal chops for AG; I never liked her pro-insurance industry approach to health care; she has no particular special insights to bring to Education. She would be best in a position where personality trumps policy - particularly when the policy is someone else's. SoS, Ambassador to the UN, something like that.

6. Hillary would take the role in the capacity that Barack would wish if she did so, from all we've >
seen.
