As a DLCer, I've never been a Deaniac, obviously Howard Dean and Centrist Democrats like me do have some political differences, but despite those political differences we DO share a similar philosophical outlook.
I want to say, that during the past few years, Howard Dean has in fact earned my respect, for the campaign contributions he's made to our party, and the role he played in our recent stunning victory.
I'm sad to see him retire as DNC Chairman, I think he has a unique talent, hopefully President Obama might appoint Howard Dean to something like Surgeon-General.
That's all I wanted to say....I KNOW that this WON'T satisfy the DLC haters out there, and you DO HATE, which is something I think you all need to think about changing, because hate never got nobody anywhere....and arguing with those you disagree with and calling them names never got nobody anywhere either, which is something else you all need to think about.
I look at people on a case by case basis, I looked at Howard Dean and realized that I came to value him as an asset to our party.

5. Dean was much more successful as Chairman than I thought he'd be. |
|
Of course, it's hard to know how much credit to give him vs. how much is just to the dislike of George Bush. Still, you can't argue with success.
However, no one is "owed" anything. I trust Obama to pick the best person for each role, NOT to take a list of people that should be rewarded and place them into the administration.

I just think the country should be run for the people, not for corporate interests. When corporations were granted "personhood," an insatiable monster was created. Democrats should not enable them, that seems to be the job for Republicans.
See? No hatred.
