As the economy goes down the toilet, he's in the locker room with a towel over the back of his neck. |

That's how someone described Idiot Son. I heard it on Matthews' show a week ro so ago.
As I watch congress founder about in the lame duck session, I am put back in mind of that VERY appropriate observation.
We are a country that, in the short term, is essentially rudderless and leaderless.

I can't help but feel his lack of participation at the moment is a good thing.

3. Actually that's probably a good thing |

Given that he turns everything he touches into crap, staying away from the economy problem at this point is probably a good thing.

5. It's like a ship's captain leaving the crew and passengers to drown in a storm |

He apparently feels no sense of duty whatsoever. If he's checked out already, he could at least show strong support for, and express confidence in, Obama. Bush creates anxiety and scares people when he speaks, while Obama calms and reassures people and makes them feel confident there is a future worth fighting for. If Bush has given up on his duties as the POTUS, the least he could do is pretend to support the next POTUS. His behavior is disgusting, if not treasonous.

6. yeah, Fineman and Matthews were pretty brutal... |

...about Bush checking out. I've never seen them talk in such frank words. Matthews said we are at the "crossroads of horror and hilarity" in our national situation, where gallows humor seems the only escape.
