Sen. Kennedy Returns To Capitol Hill (pic)

BOSTON -- Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy made his first return to Capitol Hill Monday since he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last spring and undergoing surgery for a brain tumor.

Looking spry but visibly more frail in a navy blue suit, his snow-white hair perfectly coiffed, Kennedy entered the Capitol rotunda with his wife Vicki, smiling and waving to waiting reporters.

He said he's eager to get work on some of the major issues facing Congress once president-elect Barack Obama takes office, and said he's "delighted" to be back at work.

Kennedy spent most of the summer at his Cape Cod Hyannisport compound while he recovered from surgery and underwent treatment for the cancer. His only public appearance was a speech at the Democratic National Convention this summer.

He returned to his Washington-area home a few weeks ago.

2. Welcome back, Senator Kennedy!

On TV they showed a banner with the above sentiment when they opened the doors for him to enter the Senate. You could ALMOST hear the cheers and applause from those inside. I'd love to see footage of that.
