Gas price watch. How much are you paying at the pump?
It's $1.91 just outside of Chicago on the Indiana side.

I can't remember when it's been so low. I guess it's just a sign of the times. With no jobs to go to, who needs gas?

19. I can remember. It was $1.46 when Bill Clinton left office.
Went way up as soon as Bill left office. Going down just as soon as Bush is leaving.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

39. Has anybody posted Hawaii's prices.
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 03:23 PM by Blue_In_AK
What's infuriating about our high prices is that we have the oil and we have refineries right here in the state, and we're still getting gouged. Last year we were paying pretty much what everybody else was paying -- this year something strange is going on.

Here's a comparison from a week ago http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/585035.html (At least we've dropped some since last week)

Anchorage

Yesterday - $3.09
Week ago - $3.19
Month ago - $3.87
Year ago - $3.10

The national average

Yesterday - $2.23
Week ago - $2.39
Month ago - $3.26
Year ago - $2.76

----------

I just checked the Hawaii prices. Their Costco gas is $2.49, and the most expensive seems to be $3.77. Anchorage has the cheapest gas in Alaska. It's still going for $4.93 in Cordova and is probably much more out in the Bush.

So last year we were paying .34 more than the national average, this year it's .86. It doesn't make sense to me.
