8. Weird how debunked GOP talking points never seem to go away.
It's almost as if Republican's were deaf or thick skulled morons that refuse to accept facts.

2. I heard that Alaska is counting through Tuesday
and the last count I saw, Stevens was down aboout 1K votes. The remaining ballots are said to be Dem favoring precincts.

The Franken campaign put out a call for volunteers to train as observers for their recount. I'm not sure about the status of the first count, though.

3. Minnesota is going tinto automatic recount
The difference between Norm and Al is only 206 votes, which is WELL within the ½% needed to trigger an automatic recount.

There were some 3 million votes cast in that race so the recount threshhold is something like 15,000 votes.

7. We are still counting.
The bulk of the remainder of the votes will be counted tomorrow. I think Wednesday is the last day to receive absentee (mostly overseas) ballots. I'm not sure what's going on today, but tomorrow seems to be the big day.

Keep your fingers crossed for us.

14. It depends on if anybody wants one.
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 03:26 PM by Blue_In_AK
We don't have automatic recounts here unless the vote is exactly tied, but anybody can request one paid for by the state if they're within a small percentage (which I'm too lazy to look up right now). If I were Ted and Mark comes out on top, I think I would just let it stand -- but you never know with The Hulk. He may go for it.

15. I'm hoping the reason it's taking so long
is because they're being very, very careful. There was a lot of skapticism here about this election plus we have a history of tampering from 2004, so my guess is that this is being watched very closely.

17. Lets hope the outcome is what we want.
It still puzzles my why in 2008 it can't be done more quickly.

Actually, I'd hate to see Stevens lose posthumously.

16. In Minnesota's case they legally cannot start the recount until 2 weeks after the election
