9. Not only can they steal all your stuff without prior notice...

... but they get to steal all the same stuff from anyone who helps you out as well. Maybe somebody gives you a buck when you're panhandling downtown. Oops, that's illegal and they might just wake up asset-free as well.

Say your family sends a care package containing food, blankets, warm clothes, a couple of books and so on. It's unclear how the post office could even find you now that you're homeless, unemployed and penniless.

But if that gets to you somehow, the feds can steal the same list of assets from all those family members who aided and abetted you -- since you're now a felon, the penalties just keep stacking up.

No credit, no bank accounts of any sort, no record that you ever really existed except in the memories of friends and family.
