My brother told me if they had managed to steal this one from Obama he would have never voted again |

Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 03:57 PM by NNN0LHI
He said the writing would have been on the wall.
He may have a point?
I wonder how many other people felt that way?

1. I wouldn't "not vote". That's what they want to happen. Only their folks to vote. |

3. If they actually STOLE it, it would be pretty disturbing. |
|
Now, it was possible simply to lose because the voters were made to feel afraid or whatever. The day before the election, the TV ads were nothing but Wright and "Goddamn America." That would have been bad. If it was actually stolen, it would tell me that we were entering a new imperial era where the will of the people was irrelevent in a way that it had not been before. I still would have voted, though.

6. That's almost what I thought: |
|
If we managed to lose
At this time
With this candidate
And this campaign
In this international climate
And in this economic crisis
Against this Republican
And against this running mate
After two terms of this president...
..the Democrats would never win a Presidential election ever again.
I think I would still vote--I just wouldn't care much about it 'cause I'd know common sense and decency was going to keep losing.
That's what I thought the week before the election. Thank god we WON!!

7. I was prepared to drop out. |

Grow the garden and let the world finish itself off. I felt like we had done everything and if that effort failed there was no option. Glad I have hope today. I plan to work on getting rid of those electronic voting machines so we don't have to worry so much about the next election.

they couldn't steal that big one. These bastards didn't turn into altar boys this year.

DHand I had already decided that IF the election looked funny we were going to be on the move. Our country deserves the attention. We would have been on a cross country drive to DC the next day.

if this had been stolen, it would have gotten very ugly in this nation. It would have made the riots of the sixties look like sunday socials.

But in my new country. I decided I was getting too old to live any longer in a theocratic dictatorship and had decided to leave the country if the election was stolen like the previous two.

18. As DU has always maintained, if our guy had a big lead, it would be |
|
less likely that the repukes would steal it. Imagine you're old Charlie Crisp in Florida and you're thinking about stealing it for McFudd. But you see that Obama is not only polling several points higher but more important, has an overwhelming lead in the electoral college. You say to yourself, damn! Looks like old Obama is going to be the president regardless of what happens in Florida. AND, if he's the president and he suspects hanky panky with our state's voting, I could be in deep doo doo. The same goes for other repuke officials thinking about stealing their state.

22. We stopped about one third of the GOP tricks this time. |
|
We still want to be sure states get paper ballots with random audits
or at least make sure electronic voting machines get paper trails that are subjected to random audits and have open source code that can be examined for cyber security reasons.
We stopped some voter purging and impounded some machines that were flipping votes, but we want to be sure to finish the job of cleaning things up as much as possible.
We don't want the GOP to cheat to push more Republicans into Congress to undermine President Obama's goals.
IF you thought your brother was being excessively worried about the issue, please check out
www.stealingamericathemovie.org (or dot com). It is a calm and comprehensive overview of election manipulation techniques used in recent years as well as some historical comparisons from the past.
