Lieberman - The nasty little turncoat is going to get away with it
Analysis and reporting on tonight's Hardball has me at least convinced that Lieberman is going to skate away from all his turncoat performance during the campaign. The word reported is that the Democratic caucus may assess the hand slap of taking away his Chairmanship of the Sub committees, but leave him untouched with the Chair of the Homeland Security/Governmental Affairs Committee, the rationale being that the Senate is above all a club, where members just aren't too harsh on other members, regardless of their transgressions. Lieberman played it for all it was worth and walks away untouched! Puke!!!:puke:

Apparently some things will never change.

That's where the fight should be.

What a slimy turncoat this guy is.

5. I am as disgusted by this as anyone here.
That said, politics is like sausage making, in fact, making a Yorkshire Black Pudding. Lots of blood goes into the process and you cook it twice. Boil then fry. When it boils, it really, really stinks.

Somewhere in the devilish details lurks what is not being said. Even so, we can, from experience, extrapolate to a degree of accuracy . You can bet that for Joe to maintain face, and to keep his vote within the caucus, he will be paying some heavy prices. Surely, if he goes off the reservation in his Homeland and Gov. Oversight Committee, his political corpse will be tied to weights and sunk in the Potomic with great speed and alacrity and he has been told that as well. You can cut a committee's budget to the bone, you know. Make staff go away. The same can be said for his senatorial budget and staff.

Also, something tells me that he has been told that 2010 has the great potential to be a real hell on earth for him, should he stray too far, once again, from the fold. Little things like massive campaign support for a real Dem opponent, like Lamont, can happen with a swipe of a pen. Lots of senators can be up there, as well as a popular President or Vice-President, in rather ricky-tick manner. More than once as well.

Somewhere along the way, tough deals are being hammered out, in the service of hitting that magic 60 and Joe holds very few cards. As usual, we aren't being shown the sausage making.

9. All he has to do to sell us out is do nothing
to address the dreadful problems Bushco. have left us with, like he's already been doing.

It's not a matter of whether or not we accept that politics make strange bedfellows, it's our desperate need for proactive leadership in correcting the organizational mess we're currently saddled with, and overturning the most heinous of the no-bid contracts.

6. What about the children?
Are we to tell them that it's OK to sell your friends up the river? It's OK to collude with your sworn enemies? It's fine to be a traitor? Gosh, I wish I only had to explain how good it feels to get a BJ.

How can it be we leave him to continue his do-nothing control of it?

8. If Lieberman gets to keep his Homeland Security chair, then we need to setup a fund
the next day to donate $ to a Lieberman challenger in 2012. If Lieberman retires in 2012, then the $ can go to someone else.

10. And if Lieberman gets away with his trashing of Democrats in 2008 then
the Senate Dems should retract their votes on censuring MoveOn.org earlier this year.

21. Setting up a fund right away is really a good idea. Money talks in Washington.
If Senate leadership see a real grassroots movement with funding to challenge Lieberman, they might finally get the message.

11. it looks like that will be the case.

You're right. The senate is just a big club, after admitted, all concern for the voters who put them there vanishes in the night. Letting the scum sucking traitor off the hook is by far one of the worst things they've pulled off since Dumbya was installed. Reid is a spineless worm, but it would not even matter because they are all in on it. After hearing Leahy and Sanders I had my hopes up that they would at least take him off Homeland Security. Now I agree with you, it doesn't look like that will happen. Forgiving somebody's screw up's is one thing. Rewarding him for being a traitor is quite another, and IMHO, unacceptable. :-(

Puking just doesn't cover it. But it's a start. :puke: :puke: :puke:

14. Let Him Keep His Chair…
…but abolish the comittee, so LIEberman can be chairman of nothing.

We don't need a "Homeland Security" committee.

Make a new committee with a name that doesn't sound so Nazi.

18. Calling all howling Blue Dogs...
DLC Glee Clubbers, Fancy Nancy's Panty Brigade, Bail-Out Buffoonery Bill Boosters and Rahm-a Rahm-a Ding Dongs. The damned DU sect for inductive/deductive reasoning is second guessing our Peerless Feeders once again over their defense of our own Holy Joe, the Sly Pretender. It's like they think deception and acting like a pawn to a foreign nation are BAD things instead of sound politics.

Skinner, et.al. have a good thing here and those new babies to think of. They really need to reign in these lefties. They make us look silly with their diction, syntax, vocabulary, reasoning and worst of all, their damned memories. They're like elephants with their ability to remember into last week, maybe they should change parties.

So hop in and let's shut these jokers up once and for all. WE WON, we should be relaxing in an armchair while sucking a beer and waiting for the show to start, not defending those better than us and THEM.

An ineffectual Homeland Security/Governmental Affairs Committee chair is a sign of NO PROSECUTIONS!

Just like Clinton, Obama is buying a broom and a really big rug.
