As a Connecticut resident and Obama supporter/donator, I am feeling disappointed |
|
Edited on Mon Nov-17-08 10:10 PM by Atman
Long ago, I signed up to support Ned Lamont only to be kicked in the cajones by the bullshit mythical "Connecticut For Joe" party. Which, btw, eventually ousted Joe Lieberman from the party bearing his name. I am not making this up.
The man embarrassed Connecticut much as chad and Foley embarrassed Florida. But worse.
Unfortunately, I feel it would be wise for me to throttle back on the contempt I have for my Senator at this time, as he apparently now retains a coveted Homeland Security chairmanship with powers to...oh, fuck it... I love Joe! He's a great guy! He's my Senator, and I welcome him back into the Democratic Party and into the Obama Administration!
I guess it's cool. I got an awesome t-shirt for my $100 donation to Obama. *sigh*
Signed, Connecticut For...uh...what was I for again?

1. As a Democrat, you have to learn to bend over and take it up the rear. It's what we do. |
|
No, but seriously, I feel a lot of dismay at the Democratic leadership for doing a half-assed job.
We'll oppose the war half-assed. We'll oppose Bush's warrantless wiretapping half-assed. We'll oppose the Patriot Act half-assed. We'll oppose giving telecoms immunity for helping Bush spy on Americans half-assed.
I can assure you the rank-and-file have the fortitude to draw lines in the sand, but the problem is the people who are leading us fail us.

12. Obama didn't want them to do anything, right? |

Not that they would have done anything on their own either....

5. That's OK Atman. Most of us aren't completely off our meds |
|
yet either. 8 years of abuse and you just can't stop cold turkey ya know.
We might just want to lower the dosage and not completely let go.
I can't wait until Ned Lamont charges back on the scene. I spent a lot of time and money to get him elected too. Well worth it and I'm not giving up on his future !!
:fistbump:

7. I believe I understand your semi-cryptic response, but... |
|
...when do we, as Democrats, stand up instead of standing down in the name of some sort of noble strategy that never seems to work?

Lieberman is an unrepentant, sanctimonious, a-hole. This CT voter wishes him ill will and may he rot in Hell.

14. As a Connecticut resident and a Lamont volunteer and donor, I think we simply |
|
need Joe's vote with us on social issues (like abortion, for example). It's a simple as that. If we didn't need his vote, there wouldn't be this deal. Politics makes strange bedfellows, folks...
