Will the moral cowards that voted to keep Lieberman in ever be revealed publicly?
Basically if a politician goes against the will of his/her constituency, they can simply vote in private? At the very least, the Dems that voted for Joe need to own their vote, and justify it to the millions of hard working folks on the front lines that elected them (or re-elected them). How can they fathom we will be OK allowing a war mongering tool of McBush to remain in power?

Sadly, the message is they don't care how we feel about it!

I want to see at least one Dem in the caucus speak out on how this vote is justified when Joe spit on President Elect Obama at the rethug convention and questioned his ability to lead.

This vote is not Democracy, but back room bullshit. And yes, I remain thrilled Barack Obama will be our new president, but in this case - his support for that war mongering fool is too much of a compromise.

Very disappointing....:grr:

2. Personally I don't give a flying fuck who did or didn't
I mean look at what is happening in this country - this has little matter to me

3. When the people we elect are not accountable to those who elected them...
It matters a tremendous amount to this voter!

Granted, in the BIG picture - we have far more compelling battles to fight than wasting too much air on this traitorous prick.

Yet so much of what we Dems railed against had to do with the secrecy of the Bush criminal regime. I find this "secret" vote (and the outcome) to be utterly hypocritical and in both what it says about our party and what we stand for.

Just politics eh?

4. Trust me - there is plenty of that stuff out there
but this? Time to move-on. Lieberman may be a chair but let's face it - not like he's got that much control that Reid couldn't take away in a new york minute

7. Reid TAKE AWAY anything from Lieberman? Oh puhleeze
It's a wonder Reid can sit in a chair, he's so f*cking spineless.

8. That would require Reed (and other Dems) having a spine. Something he does NOT possess.

5. From the AP

"Obama has told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada it would hurt the message of unity that he wants for his new administration if Lieberman leaves the Democratic caucus."

Somehow I think that trying to unify and create a spirit of bipartisianship and national unity takes a whole hell of a lot more courage than simply exercising the power to shun somebody. Just my opinion of course.

Really, there are far more important issues than this.

6. Agree and disagree
Yes Coyote, there are far more important issues than this. Yet even in wonderful victory, I will not remain silent when I disagree with our party.

You said:

So you are assuming that keeping Joe as Chair aids in the spirit of unity?

Dems can't stand him and very few pukes embrace him (now that the election is over); I see very little unification value in this action.

And as an aside, I assure ya - once the dye is cast on this I will move on. This is not worth more than a one day rant. President Elect Obama will do far more right than wrong!!! Just in this singular case...

9. Lieberman will make them sorry they allowed this.
Really stupid move Dems. Not that stupid or cowardly are in any way unexpected from this bunch.

Give 'em hell harry... or cake if hell doesn't sound 'bipartisan' enough.

10. Lieberman does not have that much control or power
If he does something that Reid doesn't want him to do then Reid will just go to Inouye, Lieberman's backup, and get it done right.

Geez, if I wanted doom and gloom I'd go read free republic. SHould I start stockpiling my guns & bullets now?

12. Inouye isn't even on that committee.
Here educate yourself: http://hsgac.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?Fuseaction=About.Membership

Committee chairs have plenty of power. I would argue this further but I have no idea what you are even talking about. Your arguement doesn't make sense, and frankly it doesn't seem to be based on anything that exists in reality.

You can respond however the hell you want to, just don't be shocked when Lieberman suddenly morphs into Ken Starr once Obama takes office.

11. Not disappointing, humiliating!
Those who worked hard have been deliberately humiliated and likely
won't soon forget it, I know I won't!
Those putting a positive spin on this can go fuck themselves!
