Here's to Pat Leahy and Bernie Sanders, the ONLY Senators to speak
out against Liebertoad today.

Just pathetic that they were the only ones.

4. Oh, I think it does. Won't post much about it. Too divisive and liable to start a conflagration.

Big Picture.

Yes, AIPAC certainly does figure into it.

5. It has a lot more to do with what Obama wanted.
Durbin's vote is a big fat clue. And sorry, no I don't believe Obama is controlled by AIPAC.

12. You just assumed something I never said or meant or even implied.
"Obama is controlled by AIPAC"

There is no denying AIPAC's influence nor an effective counter-weight for that group in DC.

3. Good to see Dems with a spine
I can't see any good coming from this. Reaching out is one thing - rewarding traitorous campaigning is quite another.

9. I wouldn't bet on Carper, Lieberman thanked him today.
Edited on Tue Nov-18-08 01:31 PM by Alexander
I'm guessing Carper just decided to talk tough.

8. Your state has two of the best (if not the best) senators, Cali.
There's damned few politicians I respect, but Leahy and Sanders are among them.

10. When Sanders forms a political party, or joins one, I will be there.
I think now it might be back to independent.

13. I heard last night, I think on MSNBC, that Sanders couldn't vote
because he is not a Dem. What puzzled me was the vote, I think it was 42-15, did I hear that right? It doesn't add up unless some of the Senators elect voted too.

21. Sanders is a Socialist (no, really, he even says so)
and there is a Socialist party (Jon Stewart had their presidential candidate on - it was not Obama) - I'm find them more attractive by the minute.
