but if he is the 60th vote to override a filibuster on healthcare or a judge nomination, I will gladly take it. It is an unlikely scenario, but the Democrats in the Senate own him now.

Not what we democrats generally like to believe in, to be sure. But that's how this seems to be "shaking out".
If the Dems need that 60th vote.....well Joe will be the 'go to' guy. He is feeling "mighty important" right about now.... hmmmmm........

I think we should all ask that question of our Dem Senators a whole goddamn lot. If he has the job, what will he do with it? Ask Reid. Also, ask Obama, since he has no problem meddling in the Senate's business.

He was stumping for the Republican nominee for President. After this, Lieberman could stab Harry Reid's mother in an alley and still be welcomed with loving arms into the Democratic caucus.

12. I don't think anyone here is "forgiving" him... |
|
...it all comes down to tearing off a piece of his worthless coward ass TODAY versus looking at the big picture.
Make no mistake about it...I wipe my ASS with Harry Reid...but the decision didn't come from Reid.
Eyes on the PRIZE, my friend...eyes on the PRIZE.
Lieberman's day is coming. Today was not that day.
Enjoy the fried fish, and when the time is right, we'll kick that little scumbag to the curb.
It will be SWEET.
It will be worth the WAIT.
It's not going to happen TODAY.
But it WILL HAPPEN.
EYES ON THE PRIZE.

The key word here is "later"...
...Lieberman's day will come. Today is not the day. No one...not you, not I, not the overwhelming majority of DU...is "forgiving" anything. We are simply focusing on the bigger picture.

...I have no intention...today, or at any time in the future...of "forgiving" Lieberman.
This WAS NOT Harry Reid's decision. As the saying goes, Harry Reid is about as valuable as tits on a bull. I think he's a spineless coward and a pitiful excuse for a "leader."
Obama gave Lieberman a pass because Obama has his eyes on the prize, the big picture.
Lieberman's day will come.
Anyone remotely familiar with my posts on DU knows that I'm not a Lieberman supporter in any way, shape or form.
His day will come.
That days is not today.

Several did not vote at all because of him. Nader and whomever the Constitutional or Libertarian party candidates received the rest of their votes, as I recall.
I voted for Al, whom I like, to stop the pig farmer, but couldn't stand Lieberman.
I'd bet it happened more than we know. jmho

I figure most of us are with you. I would only forgive if he had to grovel and there has been no grovelling, so no forgiveness will be forthcoming and if he's stupid enough to run again in 4 years, I will send much money to see him removed permanently from the Senate. He needs to go back to being a private citizen, post haste.
