How about this: what if hundred of gay couples gathered together
at Santa Monca pier and were married in an enormous ceremony. What if their families were interviewed and voiced their support? What if all the currently married gays and their families also atended and voiced their support? What if Schartzeneger and his Kennedy wife attended? What if it was a widely publicized event, and human rights supporters of all stripes attended and voiced their support? I think somebody should getbusy organizing this thing. Any takers?

3. And so would the neocon repugs.
I was hoping for equal marriage rights with my partner, not being saddled with a crazy old uncle who looks like Droopy the cartoon dog.

4. that's why I suggested that they be part of the crowd. I think the most
effective part of American black civil rights non-violent demonstrations, like Ghandi's non-violent demonstrations, was the factual, accountable, number of people that showed up and gave large undeniable numbers of human faces to express the humanity of the situation. Numbers matter, and thousands of supportive people collecting for such an event would be undeniable, peaceful, and human. I think it's a great idea. I don't sense any enthusiasm here either way from du.
