So I get into this heated discussion with my sister, (a really misguided republican) on face-book, when all of the sudden, her mother-in-law has a plethora of input! My comments are in bold for narrative clarification. I really can't stand these people, my sister's in-laws, and they know it. I will not pull punches with either of them ever again. We've accomplished far too much with this Obama victory to be pacifist in the face of idiocy.

No, I'm not. All I see is that Nazi Sean Hannity, or blowhard Bill O'Liar, or hear Rush Limpball on the radio. Seeing as the RW has basically taken over and controlled the media in this country, a little fairness might not be a bad thing. Take a good look a Germany circa 1936, you'll understand. Well, for once those three networks were doing their jobs by not blindly worshiping those frauds running on the republican ticket, and reporting the news for once. When all you can run on is a lousy smear campaign with 0 plans for the future, you lose elections. And no, it wasn't the government that blew up the Trade Center, (real original RW talking point), but it was the Bush administration that allowed it to happen.
You're too smart for this crap Beck... You can thank a Democrat for unemployment benefits, and social security. If the republicans had their way, we'd all be living on the street. My sister was recently unemployed, and managed to keep her house and kids fed until she found another job.

Hey Beck, here's some facts for you. (Oh boy! Facts!) Under the first amendment to the constitution, you, as an American citizen, have the right to your own opinion and the freedom to express that opinion without being referred to as "stupid".
Here's some additional facts that you might find interesting. The Obamas' made 4.2 million dollars in 2007 and the Clintons' made 20,400,000.00 in 2007. That should keep them from living in the street, huh? In fact, over the past 8 years, under a republican administration, Bill and Hillary Clinton made over 130 million dollars. Neato! Relevance?
I would never have believed America would elect a man to president with known ties to a socialist party but no known citizenship to the United States.(I nearly punched the screen with the stupidity of that last one...) I guess the Constitution doesn't have the meaning its originators intended.
Why is everything about partisanship anyway? Our ancesters, (she misspells ancestors here) ,came here for religious freedom not political partisan. Ummmm, WTF does that even mean?

Interesting how now we are quick to site that our forefathers came here for religious freedom, when the republicans were so afraid of that "Scary Muslim" Obama. I'll also remind you that it was a republican administration that has done more damage to the Constitution in the past eight years than any administration in history. All in the name of "Fear and Terror". I realize it's difficult for some to get beyond the 50's McCarthyism concepts that have been driven into their heads since childhood.
Barack is NOT a socialist. He just doesn't think it's fair for people who are struggling financially to pay for the lifestyles of the wealthy. Talk to me after tax season, when you've gotten a bigger refund than you've seen the past eight years. Let me know how that big bad "Socialism" thing is screwing you.
p.s. Not once did I see the word "Stupid" in anything I've written. Spoken like a true republican though, invent words where they don't exist to change the message.

Beck, It appears that in sharing my opinion with you I have angered your brother. Then I must apologize, that was not my intention. I beleve (again, spell check does wonders) what you are trying to say is that fairness should be evenly spread across the board. The American people have the right to fairly and accurately hear both sides of an issue in order to make an educated decision. (Sure thing lady. Like FOX News hasn't been jamming RW propaganda down the throats of sheep, unchecked since it's inception? Like Clear Channel hasn't been buying up every independent radio station that carries Air America since the birth of Air America. How's that fairness working out for ya?) No decision should be slanted by partisanship. If I have misunderstood your intention that was my mistake.
May I also say that your brother obviously does not know me. If he did he would know that I am not a republican nor am I a democrat and I have voted both ways in elections.(Mrs. Holier-than-thou voted for the Bush-monkey TWICE, and the McCain monkey this last one. Stinks like a republican to me...) Believing in God and appreciating my opportunity to know Him personally and my freedom to worship Him whole-heartedly does not make me a republican, it makes me a Christian. I didn't realize this was such a heated topic. I thought I was inserting a little levity (No really, I was laughing my ass off) ,but it seems it wasn't taken that way, I apologize. It was not my intent to anger you. I realize that many people do not see eye to eye on a lot of topics and often it happens in families. You are right when you say it is best to agree to disagree. However, there is one thing I must take issue with. (Uh Oh...) You can disagree with my point of view if you choose but please do not ever make unbased inferences against my parents or the way I was raised. That is a subject of which you have no knowledge and it is highly offensive to me. You could not be further from the truth. Thank you.

If there are any facts I've taken away from this enlightening dialog with you, they are these:
1) You don't know my father, and as a result have no knowledge regarding inferences made against my own parents.
2) You're quick to call yourself a "Christian", and yet you devotedly supported John McCain in this last election. That simply tells me that you don't know Jesus either. I find it highly offensive that you claim otherwise. How many dead Iraqi civilians now? Women? Children? I guess only God knows huh? I guess it was truly the "Christian" thing to do when you pulled that lever for McCain though, right?
