WhiteKnot.org A symbol of equality... because everyone should be able to tie the knot.

Want to show your support of equality? Now there is a way...

http://whiteknot.org/

The white knot represents your support of the rights of gays and lesbians to marry. Showing your support for this shows your belief in equal rights and non-discrimination for all people.

Thousands of white knots were distributed at Saturday's rallies. Since you can't carry a sign and chant everywhere you go, start wearing a white knot to show your support and continue the conversation. Join our mailing list to find out more. Keep this issue on the top of mind of everyone. We are working to get white knots manufactured. In the meantime, make you own.

Visibility is our goal. Whether you are gay or straight, please show your support by wearing the knot and telling people why you are wearing it. It may seem like a small thing, but imagine the white knot gaining the pervasiveness and instant recognition of the AIDS Ribbon. We can do it!

Wear your white knot to church, to school, to work, to lunch. We will be encouraging celebrities to wear knots during interviews and on red carpets. We will show those who would deny gays and lesbians their fundamental rights that the majority is in fact on our side--on the right side of history.

1. Not enough posts to recommend
I didn't realize you had to have certain amount of posts to recommend...so I guess that means instead of lurking I'll have to start posting more.

This sounds like a great idea and I'll be making a tie the knot ribbon as soon as I find some white ribbon here in apt...and sure to go over big in my little but very very red part of California. I believe the county(Kern) I live in was the most overwhelming yes vote on prop.8.

I don't think it can be said enough that to deny one group(any group) equal rights diminishs and makes a mockery of equal rights for all.

I also think that although the ERA never became part of Constitution that most states did pass an ERA amendment to their constitutions which no doubt is basis for many law suits here of proponents for equal rights...those 24 words that were so horrifiying to the Moral Majority and other idiots..."Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex."

2. Done.
The CASC has agreed to hear cases against the ban.

This travesty will be short-lived.
