An email from Max Cleland
Edited on Wed Nov-19-08 06:26 PM by babsbunny
A few weeks ago, I wrote you about our party's Senate candidate in Georgia, Jim Martin. I asked for your help and you came through, contributing almost $30,000 to his campaign.

Our efforts paid off, and Jim Martin held Saxby Chambliss to under 50% of the vote, forcing a runoff election that will take place on December 2.

You can help put Jim Martin over the top and give Barack Obama another vote in the Senate to pass his agenda.

In 2002, Saxby Chambliss and Karl Rove ran one of the most disgusting campaigns imaginable, airing a television commercial that attempted to scare voters with images of Osama Bin Laden.

Back then, John McCain called the ad "worse than disgraceful" and condemned it. Well, last week John McCain headed down to Georgia to campaign for Chambliss.

Jim Martin needs all the help he can get to fight back.

Democrats have already picked up seven seats in the Senate, bringing our total to 58, including Mark Begich who was declared the winner in Alaska last night. In Minnesota, a statewide recount begins today and several experts predict that Al Franken could prevail.

If Jim Martin can pull off a win in Georgia on December 2, that just might give Barack Obama 60 votes in the United States Senate.

Contribute to Jim Martin's Campaign

I know it's been a long campaign season, but right now Jim Martin needs your help more than ever.

Thank you,

Max Cleland

2. Chambliss's ad calling war hero Cleland's courage into question
is about as dirty as it gets, and something that Chambliss would just as soon have go away.

Fortunately it's still up on YouTube for all to see.

3. There needs to be an ad directly calling Chambliss a scumsucking piece of human slime that will say
and do anything to get elected.

When he rails against it (you know he will), whip out the Cleland ad from 2002 as proof and use McCain's own statement about it as confirmation.

5. Donated for Max & Jim
And, of course, Saxby is horrible.

What's going on with the GOTV effort? Who's coming to campaign for Jim?
