When Is It O.K. To Disagree With Obama? |
|
From his infomercial-
Obama:
"I'm reminded every single day, that I am not a perfect man. I will not be a perfect president. But I can promise you this, I will always tell you what I think and where I stand; I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you when we disagree, and most importantly I will open the doors of government and ask you to be involved in your democracy again."

2. Its a free country, disagree all you like. |
|
You seem to be upset that people here are not agreeing with you.
Most people are waiting to see what happens, not criticizing every move Obama makes.

Disgaree in that you say "well if I were him I'd have picked so and so instead becasue of X, Y, Z"? any time - and will get a 99% reasonable reaction.
Disagree in that you say "Oh noes - he's a puppet for the Clintons and will not change a thing because he hired someobody who didn't actively try to impeach Bush at every opportunity!"? Then it's still OK, as in allowed, to do it - you'll just get deservedly laughed at and insulted.

7. When Obama is ACTUALLY President and is making policy.. |
|
Until then this bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch about everybody he's appointing that doesn't live up to YOUR standards is just freaking ridiculous. Thats like having to do a work evaluation on a person after their first day on the job! Why don't you actually SEE what people do before prejudging them based on your biases/prejudices.

9. You don't seem to understand how these things work. |
|
If the criticism is constructive, it's always going to be ok to disagree, and you'll get reasonable responses the vast majority of the time.
If you try to take your point of view, and make that inherently GOOD and everything that disagrees with you BAD, you're no different than the Bush administration. These issues aren't black and white. The job of a good president is to make policy that works for an entire country, not to please a handful of malcontents who think the administration owes them something after eight years of far-right leadership.

11. I'd like people to hold their fire until we see where Obama's picks are going. |
|
That would be nice. This 'change' thing keeps coming up, and the truth is, Obama IS change, and his cabinet will be very much different than Clinton's, and certainly more different than Bush's.
Every time Obama makes an appointment, this place goes to defcon 3. It's so tiring reading the same 'ol negative posts on every goddamn pick that happens to be someone we are familiar with. Jeez. Give the guy a little leeway here. Most people on this board have been wrong about Obama many times in the past. Step back, take a deep breath and maybe give him a few months AFTER being sworn in to see where it's all going. There is so much negative crap on this board right now, and it's sad, because we should still be celebrating. We had an awesome victory.

I assume republicans can also say anything they want and will. Rush and Hannity disagree for example disagree alot with Obama and thats their right as well.
