I am a long term HIV patient, I have had some experience with being denied care.
I went to a catholic hospital, I was having breathing distress.
The gave me a breathing treatment and some Benedryl, I was still in distress, and asked for some tests to be run, they said no we don't have time. Then I said I am an hiv patient and I have severe allergies I would like to find out what the problem is as it feels like an allergy.
After I said I was hiv poz they told me I had to leave and that they don't treat hiv patients.
Well they then had me escorted by armed guard out of the hospital.
