http://dailyheadlines.uark.edu/1605.htmThe cable television network C-SPAN plans to cover a University of Arkansas-sponsored conference on judging the Bush presidency scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
The conference is directed by Robert Maranto, holder of the Twenty-First Century Chair in Leadership in the department of education reform at the University of Arkansas. Maranto was formerly a professor political science at Villanova. In addition to Arkansas and Villanova, the daylong conference is sponsored by the University of Southern Mississippi.
Twenty-one scholars from around the nation will address the question of how history will judge President George W. Bush’s time in office.
C-SPAN, which carries programming designed to provide public access to the political process, plans to film the keynote address by John DiIulio: “Mayberry Machiavellis After All? Why Judging George W. Bush’s Presidency Is Never so Easy as it Seems.” DiIulio, a political science professor at the University of Pennsylvania, formerly directed the White House’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
