has anyone ever had to deal with yahoo to resolve a hacked password?

either someone hacked my yahoo password or yahoo locked the account. they won't tell me what's going on. their phone support is useless. they had me email to them my request to help me recover my email account. they replied asking for information, some of which i can't remember. i sent them what i could. they replied asking me for more information including the faxing of a photocopy of a picture ID.

is there a number that i can call at yahoo and talk to someone that has a little common sense? is there some way to at least find out why i can't get into my email account?

1. if it was hacked it may have been used

to mail tons of spam and yahoo got bitch-slapped for it so they may be a bit cautious...
