6. No, he's pretty much right on today. |
|
Not that he probably gives a shit about union jobs, but he definitely recognizes the rest of the problem with allowing the car companies to go under.
Meanwhile the Heritage Foundation asshat with the dead possum on his head keeps going on and on about his scab labor Toyota made in Tennessee and how wonderful it is (never mind that most of the money he paid for it is in a bank in Tokyo)

Pat is absolutely right (!!??) on this. No country can survive as a power without a manufacturing base. The auto industry is about workers, not the asshole execs who should be impaled, with the exception of Bill Ford, and their families should be sold into chattel slavery in Saudi Arabia. Greedy, shortsigted exexutives deserve punishment of the most vengeful and painful sort. Hard working ordinary Joes and Janes deserve to have their jobs saved if reasonably feasible.

Do you hear the sounds of four sets of galloping hooves? See a cloud of dust? Hear the voices of riders urging on their steeds?

10. He is right about some things, though not always for the right reasons. |
|
I've seen him speak in person and damned if I didn't find myself nodding.

11. Actually Buchanan is right about a lot of things |
|
He was against going into Iraq. He has been against pushing the Russians by expanding NATO into Eastern Europe. He has been right (in part) about us backing Israel beyond our national interest. He has been right about pulling our troops out of South Korea, Germany etc and focussing on our own regional concerns.
He has been against the hollowing out of our industrial base for the last 20 years or more. He cited many examples in his books on actions which our government took which were about as anti-protectionist as you can get (for example forcing GM to open its dealer network to foreign produced cars).
You may not agree with him on immigration, but look at these other areas.
