Bill Richardson would be a great UN ambassador.
He is very highly qualified, even tempered, and well respected. His appointment would be a plus for those who want to see a Hispanic in the cabinet.

Since it looks like Hillary will be SoS, and it's widely reported that Richardson has been vetted, I'm hoping Obama offers him the post.

2. I thought I heard someone say he might be up for NSA.

He's a smart man and a good negotiator with experience dealing with tough foreign regimes. He should be somewhere in the cabinet, to be sure.

3. I got to think Richardson must have thought he got kicked to the side
Richardson was the most qualified candidate running in the primaries from either party. In Iowa, when his caucus sights could not get up to a voting number, he instructed them to cast their votes for Obama, he went against the Clintons who helped him in his career by supporting Obama, and he was on the short list for VP. I thought for sure he would get Sec State. No other role makes sense for him now. He would be better staying as Governor. I don't see him as Sec Defense, and he has already been Sec Energy (except with the green push - maybe that role could have much more teeth??).

It would fit with Summers being Sec Treasury (experienced hands in key positions), but I can't help thinking that Obama's administration is starting to look like Bill Clinton's third term (which brings the question of why the primary?).

4. I like Richardson for UN Ambassador.
I like the thought of showing the world our new face.

Obama, Clinton, Richardson make a strong statement of our new direction.
