Keep talking,Sarah, honey. Your mouth is our best friend, and it creates our "truth to tell moment" |
|
Tragically so. However, I am so ashamed that your performances have made me smile. Please, just go away, for your sake...and for mine. .....
It almost seems like Sarah is a sign that there is a god/dess, and the deity loves us. We just need to listen. How sad it is that for many of us that "just" is such a hurdle. We know that Sarah's message is not for us, but neither is our base reaction to her.
Keeping Sarah in the spotlight hurts the GOP, but it damages us all. She is an opportunist, and she is way in over her head. Using her seems cheap and, shall I say opportunist? We could be better than they have been. Could we, should we, ..of course...but, can we, will we?
All of this reminds me of the movie "Ghost" and the "Oh, Karl" moment.
Oh, Sarah....
God help us... all.

1. You're very kind, Miss Marple. You remind me of Garrison Keillor's essay on Sarah... |
|
... in Salon, I believe. He was very put out at the sheer exploitation of Palin by the GOP. He was appalled at her, but more than that he saw her as a small-town, narrow, very religious woman who was in way, way over her head and didn't even know it.
It's strange: I keep wanting to feel sorry for the woman, but after a couple of decades of being hammered by the religious right trying to take over the government of the US, I am too afraid of the power she has over certain elements, of her ability to arouse resentment, hate, and racism among certain Americans.
I think I'll only allow myself to truly feel sorry for her when I am assured that her political ambitions in the Lower 48 have been crushed.
And that's sad.

2. Thank you, I was feeling all medieval, but that is, perhaps, not a bad thing. |
|
How we treat our opponents tells us much about ourselves. And, sometimes, that is so sad to say.

3. The Dittohead Generation Comes Of Age... |
|
They started out infected school boards then moved up to small town mayor and up the GOOP ladder...Sarah Barracuda represents a generation that has grown up with all the GOOP talking points, a disdain for education and critical thinking and an agenda based purely on ideas drummed into her pretty little head by years of right wing claptrap. She's not unique at all (just look at Michelle Bachmann) and I'm sure there are more Palins in the GOOP pipeline we'll see come out of the shadows in the years ahead.

4. I think you are correct. Did I see somewhere that Sarah was associated with the Gingrich girls? |
|
 I'd google, but it's really, really late. I have to go to bed. Honest. :)

You can just hear how devoid Palin is of anything but those talking points. It's her biggest flaw as both a candidate and a human being...when she can't answer a question, she goes into platitudes, babbling verbage in an attempt to either confuse the questioner or hope she can bullshit her way out of it.
The proof in the pudding is how "popular" she is with her own ilk. The fact she has the codewords and dog whistles down so well is a major reason so many are infatuated with her.
Get some rest...we'll be here to laugh at her later! Sweet dreams!!
