Democrats have ALWAYS been more willing to compromise with Republicans
than Republicans compromising with Democrats. Democrats have ALWAYS been more willing to listen and analyze the issues than Republicans that consider themselves ALWAYS right. It really won't be all that hard for Democrats to be Non-Partisan. They have pretty much backed everything the Republicans and Bush* have put forth the entire last eight years. It is almost impossible for Republicans to do so. Republicans DEMAND you do things their way. Prayer in School, Anti-Abortion, No Gay Marriage, Guns under every pillow, what ever...Republicans don't bend. There is no consensus, no compromise, no give. Democrats work toward what is good for all while Republicans work toward what is good for Republicans. Republicans could NEVER Unite America. Democrats are the only hope of that ever being a reality. If that is something we truly need and want then we are going to have to listen to all sides on all issues. We at DU condemn those Democrats that side with Republicans on certain issues but if America is going to survive it has to be that way..As long as the Constitution is followed and people's lives are improved I will swallow the bitter pill of Republicans getting their way on some issues...I can't think right off what any of those might be, possibly school vouchers, or Capital Gains taxes lowered, I don't know but I do know we are going to have to get along.

1. True, and the reason Republicans controlled our country for decades is that we're such wusses....
and we allow ourselves to be trampled on constantly.

2. When republicans are in power Democrats are barely acknowledged
Edited on Fri Nov-21-08 12:13 PM by niceypoo
They are not allowed to even hold a hearing. Everything they do is shut down or ignored. When the Dems get power the republicans start talking about healing and the Democrats act like a battered wife who endlessly gives her abusive spouse second chances.

Democrats are spineless wimps, the republicans know it and take full advantage of it.

3. You should substitute the words 'cave in to' in the place of 'compromise'
