Thanks for this economic nightmare, Ronnie Raygun.
Trickle down economics, it sure didn't work. You can thank trickle down economics for this current nightmare. The top one percent are all about Greed, take a look at the CEO's. Nothing has ever trickled down, except the current lack of jobs. Bush has just finished us off, giving the banks billions that they are not even lending and our children the future taxpayers will have to pay back. Those infamous Ronnie words, "The Government is here to help" I sure hope Obama is here to help.

1. Yup! Didn't work in the '30s. Didn't work in the '80s. Didn't work in the 2000s.
That's three times a charm. Let's don't do that again.

9. Goes back farther than that -
the Gilded Age of robber barons at the turn of the century, and then back to the republican corruption of the 1870s.

It used to be once a generation, but the Great Depression made such an impact that it took longer for people to forget, so we skipped from 1930 to the late 70s.

They'll be back, crawling out from under their rocks in another 25-30 years.

3. Not according to redneck idiots who listen to too much AM radio and have never studied economics!
It's still a motha fuckin' blazing success. Gullible fools. When all the evidence showing that something doesn't work points to that very fact then you accept it or understand just why you are the laughing stock of the world.

Ignorant rubes that would be far easier to laugh at if they didn't collect guns and get desperate in their blame and turn on us as their masters instruct.

6. Trickle-down economics.
One of the biggest mysteries for the ages: Why people took it seriously in the first place, and why they thought it would work.

Obama won't be able to fix this mess in a first term. I hope the people realize that, and give whatever economic relief he proposes a fair hearing with the full knowledge that this has been a meltdown that has been decades in the making.

Ronald Reagan is giving Millard Fillmore and Warren Harding a run for their money in the Worst President Ever race. It's ironic that those who seem to fuck things up the most are never around to see the results of their efforts.

8. If he don't make an impact quickly, the first year or two, it may be hard to win that second term.

18. I agree.
That's why people have to keep their expectations realistic, but that may be hard to do. I think if he comes with a plan, and can explain it (as I know he can) and he himself says that there are no quick fixes, I think (hope) most will give him a chance.

13. I want to build my demonstration model of the theory of trickle down economics.
Construct a pyramid, 5' high, 5' wide at the base. Attach as gutters, at 6" intervals, halves of PVC pipe running parallel to the ground, each pipe stepping down in size from uppermost to lowest, 4" pipe at the layer 4'6" from the ground, 3 1/2" pipe at 4', 3" at 3'6", 2 1/2" at 3', etc. until the lowest rung of pipe is 1' from the ground, being 1/2" diameter.

Now, carefully pour a gallon of water over the tip of the pyramid.

See how much of that water reaches the ground.

I've been predicting this for years. I was called "chicken little" by more people than I could count. To date, exactly one of those people has ate crow and said I was right. The rest just deny ever saying it. Raygun can rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. :grr:
