5. I can't believe we're still asking this question. |

Should the United States formally recognize the World War I-era killing of Armenians as genocide? * 1909496 responses
Yes. Many scholars agree that the Ottoman Turks systematically killed up to 1.5 million Armenians. Other countries have recognized this as genocide. The U.S. should do the same. 21%
No. Historians continue to debate whether the deaths were genocide. Besides, Turkey is too important an ally to alienate when the U.S. has troops in the Middle East. 78%
I'm not sure. 0.8%
(For the record, I voted correctly)

6. I want our government to have some integrity |

To not acknowledge this event is cowardly. There's plenty of proof that there was genocide.
The problem is so few have heard of it. They barely know about what's happening in Tibet.

8. I realize that Turkey is one of our few allies... |

....in the middle east but we have to acknowledge the genocidal horror Armenians suffered at their hands.
I have many Armenian friends (people without a country) and the stories passed down by their families are nightmarish.
Samantha Power (Obama's foreign expert who quit after calling Hillary a monster) wrote a Pulitzer Prize winning book called "A Problem From Hell" that has an accurate and heartbreaking description of events. It's a great book about genocide and how we in America have dealt with it in the past.
If you read it tonight you would vote yes. Any human being would.
